This Thailand-based charity relies on
the support of donors in the UK and the
Republic of Ireland. With an extensive
remit to care for orphaned and vulnerable
children beyond the seaside town of Pattaya,
some 80 miles south of Bangkok, funding
and sponsors are needed for children living
with HIV/Aids, tsunami-affected young
people and other vulnerable groups.
The Trust’s projects include
a street kids home on the outskirts
of town and a drop-in centre in the
middle of town, a school for blind children,
and a vocational school for young disabled
people which is a flagship for the whole
of Asia.
Winning a finalist award in 2006 from
the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’
voluntary sector wing, Fifth Estate,
for its overall strategy and creative
mix of communications techniques in
the ‘on a shoestring’ category,
Third Sector PR achieved a media partnership,
a high-profile reception, the support
of Cherie Blair with a visit to Downing
Street, awareness raising through the
Flora London marathon, school projects
and latest website design.
